A year has passed since Archos released their Gen 9 tablets. A few months ago, Henri Crohas, Archos founder and CEO promised a very innovating superthin tablet with keyboard which can also be used to cover the device. However this is not all, it should be one of the first tablets to run on the TI OMAP 4470 CPU and many other improvements were made over the previous Gen 9 models. The Archos 101xs should be available mid September this year starting at just 379 € / £299.99 / $399.99..

The tablet sample we used for review is a pre-production tablet with a beta firmware. Though some minor things may change, it should give a good idea of the final retail model …

Our review will follow our usual methodology, first presenting the product packaging, the tablet and keyboard design, the device performance, the screen, multimedia and other features. Enjoy ! ;)

It look nice enough, wish they released it 9mnth ago,
in todays market for the price there asking for it, i wish them luck.

how about the scratch resistance of the back covers?
looks like that those metal plates could be a scratch magnet.

In a few days tests I got no scratch.
On the review part #2 video, I'm slightly putting the back of the tablet at test with my nails, did not get any scratch.

OK that's good to hear, that had me worried for a sec.
looks like the 4470 might be good enough to out preform the tegra3 so that's definitely a big plus
I'm keeping an eye on it to see how thing pan out towards the release date.
