I have a problem updating my Ainol Novo9 Quard Core Spark.
The problem does not start at all. I have tried to update many different firmwares (officers and other customized).
The problem is this ....
1. I turn off the tablet properly.
2. I run the PhoenixSuit and select the firmware to flash Novo9-Spark-LX-20130422v1.img)
3. I check the driver is properly installed (is correct)

4. I connect the cable (I correctly detect the Tablet)
5. I select the Yes option and begins to flash
6. The problem comes to 3%. It fits me like three minutes there and I get the following error:
I always get the same error trying a thousand different ways.
The Tablet will not turn on and the only way that the pc detects it with Phoenix.
If I turn normally does nothing.
I tried to go into recovery and nothing.
I tried to desolder the battery and nothing.
See if you can help me. I'm desperate .....
Try on a different computer with windows 7
Try to always use the usb ports from the back of the pc unit (this if you have one)
I heard that there are some compatibility issues with usb3 ports also.
mINoS - Did you sort the firmware problem out?
Download another copy, it may be broken, test the archive with 7-zip its free.
You could have a corrupt FAT32 SD?
If you can connect your device successfully to windows you don't have to use PhoenixSuit.
To do some tests, use the ADB tool "Android Debug Bridge" from the windows command prompt.
Remember PhoenixSuit does have a recovery option.
I have the same device as you. My unit has stopped working also - soft-bricked what a pain!
My device USB driver installs OK in windows, but fails when executed I get an error code 10 what ever that means. There is a new version of jelly bean 4.2.2 for novo9 spark dated 20130604v2.
I think you are best to stick first with older version [very very buggy]. I have been told by the "Ainol comp." help desk to use the version you tried to install first.
I will keep you posted of my progress.
