Ir worked perfectly On my UG802 4gb
In some ways better than the finless 2dark4u 1.7 rom.
The remote function works perfectly. Almost like my air mouse ipazzport.
Great job. Was this rom intended for the ug802 also?
Not specifically
It’s good to know it’s working on the UG802 too, is WiFI OK too ?
on my UG802 wifi is perfect.
My idea is the UG802 HW and MK802III HW are the same (I think just Ricomagic recalled it that way, with its logo and its FW of course). What about?
The only issue is it does not seems Full HD (just 720p), but I think it’s OK, as one can see bigger icons.
Moreover, it seems to me just a little slower than the original FW at start up.
Moreover, With Atutu, some times ago I reached about 8000, but with new version of Atutu and the device I have right now (the same model but another device, as I have donated the first one), it scores about 6800. It’s not very clear why (may be I have another kind of external microSD, or may be the newer version of Atutu works in a different way).
My hope is the newer FWs for MK802III can be also customized with:
- the 2GB for app (this is absolutely super!)
- 1080p
Thank you
any chance you can compilr the firmware in a .zip format instead of .img, so that the flashing would be hussle free, u just a TF card (could find a complete flashing guide and with the guides posted above I couldn’t manage to flash )
Thanks you in advance!
Having a bad keyboard day, this is what I ment to write:

Planning to implement the 2GB storage on IIIS firmware too?
Sure, but you’ll need to give me a few days, I’m quite busy with tablets at the moment
Thank you so much!
I’ll keep an eye on this forum
Can you contact me when the firmware for IIIS is done?
Hello friend,
any news about a firmware 2GB storage that can work with 802IIIS?
Thanks

In order to use the “Rockchip flashing tool”, one must know how th place the MK802 III in flash mode. The flashing tool does not cover this for the MK802 III… so a device specific “flashing guide” is urgently needed.
PS: Since the “Custom rooted firmware for MK802III Mini PC (release 20121129)” mentioned above is a “.zip”, file can it just be renamed it as an “update.zip”, placed on a microSD and place in the MK802 III microSD slot. Will it reflash in that way?
TIA…
Is this firmware suitable for both the 4gb and 8gb version of the MK802III?
I managed to flash the image on a 4gb device
I pretty much followed the instructions from this page:
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/featured/flashing-arnova-g2-rockchip-2918-rockchip-flashing-tool/
I used RKAndroidTool.exe to switch the device to flash mode since there’s no hardware button for it (you’d have to open the device and short two pins somewhere). After which I used RKBatchTool.exe to flash the image using the “Restore” option (which does an erase before flashing the new image). This does delete all files stored on the internal flash disk, so make sure you make a backup first.
This sounds great, but I can’t figure out how to flash it.
You should be able to find instruction on the Internet, it involves using Rockchip flashing tool.
Also, we are working on a flash guide for this device and other Mini PC, to be published in the coming days…
Ah, so I think I’d have to open up the stick and short circuit one of it’s chips in order to flash this.
Thanks for getting back to me I’m looking forward to reading your guide.
Looking forward to read your flash guide!
