After the GamePad console, the ChildPad for Kids and the giant FamilyPad, ARCHOS adds another tablet to their Themed series with a ChefPad, a cooking tablet assistant powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Specification wise, this tablet is similar to the existing Arnova 97 G4, a rather standard setup for ARCHOS / Arnova models with a dual-core 1.6 GHz CPU, quad-core GPU, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB storage, mini HDMI output, micro SDCard slot, front and back camera (both with 2 Mpix resolution)

The ARCHOS ChefPad should be available in June 2013 for €169.99 or £149.99.

Designed for kitchen use the tablet comes with an adjustable stand and a silicone protective case to keep the tablet safe from water or food splashes and make it easier to clean.
While competitors such as QooQ tablet (from another French company) bet on the content with 1000 Chef recipes and videos, ARCHOS made the choice to provide a set of selected cooking oriented applications and content filtered out Google Play Store thru their own application called Chef Apps Selection.

    1. This could be a great companion for someone who loves to cook. I wasn’t a very good cook before I got my current tablet, but now I’m able to cook along with my favorite chefs. I use DISH Anywhere on my tablet since it lets me stream live TV and my DVR recordings, which includes my favorite cooking shows. Now whenever we have potlucks at my job at DISH, everyone is dying to try my newest concoctions.

    2. We have seen the tablet market break down into several sub market groups over the years. The concept for this specific devices can reach and target a specific market of consumers that wouldn’t normally consider a tablet for its intended purpose.

Think about the convenience of storing all of your favorite cook books and recipes in one small, portable, and durable device. We anticipate many new nitch market tablets being produced in the future.
