According to the page spec sheet, we can expect the following:
|CPU: 1.6 GHz quad-core CPU and quad-core GPU (quite likely a Rockchip RK3188)|
Storage: 8GB or 16GB flash memory
Screen: 7″ IPS capacitive touch-screen display with 1280 x 800 resolution
Controls: Dual analog sticks, ARCHOS mapping tool so you can map some games (but not all) to the gamepad controls.
connectivity:microSD card supporting up to 64GB capacity
preloaded games:Asphalt 8: Airborne and Modern Combat 4 by Gameloft
preloaded apps:Google Apps (Google Play, Google Maps, Google+, YouTube and Gmail)
The 3D render of the device shows a design quite similar to the first GamePad, but we are used to some surprises with ARCHOS when we compare the actual product design with the rendered version
No details given about the battery capacity where battery life was one of the main issue of the first ARCHOS GamePad (you may also check our detailed review)
A reseller price of $169.99 is shown for a quantity of 500 pieces, so it’s quite likely to see the device in the 190 to 200 dollars or euro price range, given the usual distribution margins. A 4 weeks lead time may should get the product ready to acquire for Christmas 2013.
We should see more on the show, from 13 to 16th of October.
