It’s finally here ! The Archos G9 device running at 1.5 GHz is starting to ship, here are a few unboxing pictures of an Archos 101 G9 Turbo (1.5 GHz) 250 Gb.

To accomodate with the 250 Gb hardisk (Seagate Momentus Thin, the first 7mm standard hard drive) the tablet has lost it’s USB charging capabilities and now requires a dedicated power supply, it also gained 3 millimeters thickness (15.6 mm vs 12.6 mm) and 286 grams compared to the Flash disk models.

For the recall, have a look at the benchmarks comparing the Archos 101 G9 1 Ghz, 1.2 GHz and 1.5 GHz, all 3 models in Flash disk configuration.

Is there any word if the initial release of the 250gb modle has the upgrade to the 1gb memory or is it still running 512mb and a second version of the 250gb will release shortly after with the 1gb memory spec?
Current shipping models do have 512 Mb. The 1 Gb RAM models should be out after March this year, this should apply to all models including the 250 Gb one.
