    My setup steps:

    What should I do?

  5. Hi,
    I have an Arnova 9 G2 with the android 2.3 gingerbread operating system which I am new to, however I have been trying to read the above posts, but still am getting the:
    “Error 28: cannot create temporary directory”
    “Error 20: File copy failed”
    when pressing « install apps » button after going through downloading using Arctools 0.68 installed from AppsLib.

    I have tried all options even with a micro SD card both in and out of it.
    Has there been any new fixes for this problem or should I give up trying for the moment?
    Thanks

  7. Hi

    I notice there is a fix for installing this on the arnova 10g2 – during the installation process there is no option in the settings to reset the device, is this performed on the arnova by hitting the reset button and then just following the rest of the instructions? Just had to ask as i bricked my previous one trying to root it (thank god for faulty exchange lol)

  8. Hi. I bought a Arnova 7c g2 tablet (designed by archos) and it has android 2.3.3. The arctools dose not work. Is it because the android version is 2.3, or that the tablet is not rooted? Can anyone help please because is hard to search android apps on the web and download them from sharing sites, i need android market. I got you tube, maps, navigation, and mail to work but the market dose not work because it needs an google account and i can’t create a google account on my tablet. Please help.

  9. Hi!

    Does Arctools support the Arnova 10b? Using version 0.51, I can download the « default apps and market » for Eclair but when I try to install I get error 25, archive file cannot be accessed be sure your device is not mounted on USB (which it isn’t.)

    Thanks.

  10. I downloaded this, stuck it in the tablet root, found it and tried to install it, and was told it would not install on my tablet (Archos 7).
    This tablet is a worthless PoS without the android market.
    I’m frankly starting to get pissed off that I wasted money on it.

  11. I just sent back a Curtis Klu LT7028 4gig tablet. However, after seeing the lack of response regarding the Archos 70b, I’m not sure I want to purchase any Archos, even the Arc 10, which I was seriously considering because of it accesibility.

  12. I’ve downloaded the apk file and launched it and it installs android market with google talk however whenever I try downloading apps from the market the download starts but never executes. And I have already tried clearing the cache and force closing it. Any suggestions?

  13. I don’t know if this will help everyone but I was able to solve the error 25 unable to copy files by putting in a micro sd card. If that was the problem its a little stupid to require a micro sd card to download the apps.

  14. Your App « Arc Tools » sucks!!!!
    Since I donwloaded it on my Archos A32, the tablet is death, I can’t turn it on. It is stuck on a constant reboot. I can’t plug it on my PC by using USB because the device is not reconized anymore. There is absolutly nothing I can do.
    Thanks to you my archos is good for the garbage.
    If you hear me guys…DO NOT DOWLOAD ARC TOOLS!!!

    • The same thing happened to me with my Archos 43. The unit goes into a permanent reboot/reset loop after installing arctools and rebooting.

      You can fix this by holding the + volume button while powering on your device. (at least this is how it is done on the 43, the 32 might have a different combination).
      This will show you the service menu, which will allow you to restore the original firmware.

      I think my firmware was 2.1.04 when I tried this. I have now updated to the latest firmware 2.3.20 but I was not brave enough to try it again.

  15. Downloaded and installed from applib to my new 7ht … no problem.
    Clicked the [DOWNLOAD] button and received:

    “Error 25: File copy failed – Archive file cannot be accessed, please check that your device is not mounted on USB.

    I have triple-checked and I am not connected to USB.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  16. When I try to run Arctools 0.45 to Install Apps, it gives the error message:-
    « Error 25: File copy failed – Archive file cannot be accessed, please check that your device is not mounted on USB. »
    The device is definitely NOT mounted on USB.
    Is anyone else having this error, or can anyone help in finding a solution to this problem? All help will be greatly appreciated.

  17. i updated to version 0.45 and the marketplace stopped working. it opens showing a white screen and then abruptly closes. i’ve re-downloaded, re-installed and rebooted multiple times. It worked in the past… 🙁

    i’m using an Archos 32 Internet Tablet with the latest android OS.

    • Rednax,
      It’s normal, a new release has been submited to Appslib and it takes a little time before they validate it.
      In the meantime, previous release gets hidden ;(
      You can download the file from Arctablet web in the meantime.
      We’ve asked Appslib maintainers to sort this ASAP.

  18. I have just used arctools to install Android Market on my Archos 101 2.2.1 Froyo and 2.0.71 version firmware, and it worked a treat. Brilliant, many thanks to you guys!
    Was slightly different to the video, in that I had to install the later version of Appslib.

  19. okay after several tries got the market up and working but when i go to download any of my apps from the market it just shows starting download but that is about it. what give is there a fix in the works, i should of stayed with my old firmware for my archos70 🙁

      • Thank you so much for your prompt reply. Mine is an A101 with Froyo. My case is a bit interesting :
        a) a few days ago successfully installed Market 2.2.11 with through Arctools 0.4;
        b) after Market Fix, it went up to Market 2.2.7;
        c) played around with Google Voice and Sipdroid, then found Market downgraded to 2.2.11;
        d) reset A101 and installed with Arctools 0.43 but got only Market 2.2.11;
        e) waited for one hour with wifi on but no luck;
        f) did Market Fix, but still only 2.2.11;
        g) funny though, when I went to MyApps after Market Fix, it said « no downloads », despite that my downloaded apps were still there.

        Grateful for advice to upgrade to 2.2.7.

        Thanks a lot.

      • Thanks for your prompt reply. Unfortunately, no luck.

        Mine is an A101 with Froyo. I think this might sound interesting to you :

        a) a few days ago successfully installed Market 2.2.7 with your Arctools 0.4;
        b) played around with Google Voice and Sipdroid, then Market downgraded to 2.2.11;
        c) reset unit and installed with Arctools 0.43, but got only Market 2.2.11;
        d) After Market Fix, it is still 2.2.11 but it says « no downloads from Android Market », despite the fact that the previously installed apps are still there.

        Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    • Hello,
      ArcTools 0.43 changes are mostly related to UrukDroid and new translations being added, there are have been no changes lately on Market related functions.
      Haven’t heard about issues similar to yours, will try to have a look on an A32 here…

      • Fixed. Reset Android twice, no luck. Tried to re-install Arctools, install button went yellow and stayed that way. Went into file folders, apparently update didn’t replace previous version, had 2 Arctools folders (different versions), assuming both loading. Removed those, re-installed Arctools, working beautifully.

    • Dick,
      We’ll do our best, but we still depend on Archos that puts in the « hooks » to be exploited to install Google Market.
      Initial investigation on Archos 70 HT v2 shows there are no such hooks on this models. We’ll keep looking…

  20. I’ve downloaded the Arctools from AppsLib and successful installed the Market and did the Market fix. So far no problem encountered. I used the default installation « 1 » therefore a old version of Market is being used. Would the Market will be upgraded to the latest version automatically or I should do it manually? At this point, shall I activated the Arctools and overwrite the Market by selecting « 2 »?

    Many thanks for your efforts!

  21. I loaded ArcTools from AppsLib today. Very easy. Worked like a charm and I’m not very computer literate. Downloaded Kindle for Android. Got into my amazon account and downloaded a book from my archives. Downloaded Flash Player and now my daughter can sign into Webkinz. Downloaded Pandora but have not used it yet. Thanks ArcTools!!

  22. I loaded Arctools from AppsLib today. No problem. I downloaded the default Apps & Marget. No problem. I can get into the Marketplace now, but nothing will download. Being teased is a bummer. What do you think the problem might be? The maps and other apps that I installed using this tool are all working fine, but Flash still isn’t working either.

  23. hi, i have archos 70 ,use the last version arctools and firmwave , but one question, i can open youtube softwave , download on the market but the video always preloading can not playable .
    but when i use browser to youtube website , the video can be playable.
    how to solve this question ?

    • If you are just looking for a Market installer both ArcTools and gAppsInstaller offer similar functionality. ArcTools add extra features such as application removal (select by application), media indexer optimizer. And there is more to come…

    • Newer release should be used as follow:

      – download and install the new application release (current 0.27)
      – start the application
      – in the application download latest apps package
      – install apps package from the application
      – eventually clear market data and cache
      – reboot

      A more detailed tutorial should be written soon

    • For the moment, we do not provide links to the Gapps zipfiles, when downloading thru Arctools, their are pulled from different places on the web thru a redirector.
      Still, if you really need the files, they are available after download in /storage/arctools01.zip on your device

      • Hi, I would like to check it, but the menu entry for the USB Connections in the settings seems to have disappaered with the Froyo Update, or i’am blind 😉 But i think this could be the problem. Anyway your tool downloaded the Archive and I unpacked it manually and installed Youtube.apk and Market.apk, Youtube is working perfect, Market app not..it opens and closes directly.
        Whatever…thanks for your help. Keep on…
