Archos 70b and 80b Xenon tablets shown at IFA

Next to the announced Cesium range and the colorful Platinum smartphones, Archos also brought a few other new products to IFA 2014. While the 80b Xenon was already caught twice by our automated software package scanning for new Archos devices(1 & 2), the 70b Xenon is a model that we didn’t see before.

To start with the smaller one, Archos 70b Xenon is a small upgrade to the 70 Xenon model which brings Android 4.4 Kit-Kat OS. The design is unchanged and there is still a dual-core SoC with 512MB of RAM. Do not expect it to be in stores before November and Archos said that the RRP for the 70b Xenon will be around 99€.

The 80b Xenon is slightly bigger, comes with a faster SoC (quad-core this time), higher resolution screen and has aluminium casing. However, with the better specifications comes the higher price, as the 80b Xenon will retail for 159€. The 80b Xenon is the first of the two to hit the stores in October.
